Byungsub Kim

김병섭은 서울을 기반으로 가구, 오브제, 공간 디자인의 영역을 넘나들며 활동하는 작가이다. 도시에 대한 자신만의 해석을 바탕으로, 작가는 재료에 깃든 시간의 흐름, 기능의 흔적, 그리고 새롭게 부여된 역할 사이의 간극에서 발생하는 긴장감을 통해 재구성된 관계의 미학을 탐구한다. 2023년 프랑스 파리 GSL 갤러리 전시를 시작으로, 2024년 이탈리아 밀라노 디자인 위크에서 돌체앤가바나(Dolce & Gabbana)와의 협업 작업을 선보였으며, 2025년 12월 개인전 <METAMORPHOSIS>를 개최하며 작품 세계를 꾸준히 확장해 나가고 있다.

Byungsub Kim is a Seoul-based artist and designer working across objects, furniture and spatial installations. Inspired by the city, he explores the aesthetics of reconstructed relationships through the tension between the time embedded in his materials, traces of past functions, and their new roles. Following an exhibition at Paris's GSL Gallery in 2023 and a Dolce & Gabbana collaboration at Milan Design Week in 2024, he continues to expand his practice with his solo exhibition METAMORPHOSIS in December 2025.
